District 19 Schools
District 19 serves East New York and surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods with mostly zoned public schools and a handful of charters. About half of students hit proficiency benchmarks in ELA and math, and attendance runs around 90%. The district offers ELL support at nearly 30 schools, AP courses and world languages at about 15 schools each, plus some STEM and humanities programs. High school options lean toward SHSAT-tested schools, with limited audition or specialized programs. The middle school landscape is relatively thin in options compared to other Brooklyn districts.
