Your dashboard

Once you’re signed in, your dashboardis home base. It has three parts: a navigation rail down the left, the page itself in the middle, and Intelligence on the right. Here’s what lives where.

The left rail

The rail is narrow until you hover it, then it expands with labels. Top to bottom:

  • Dashboard — where you are now.
  • Districts, Neighborhood Search, School Search — the browse surfaces, same pages anyone can reach.
  • Saved— everything you’ve kept.
  • Then the Pro tools: Smart Match, Admissions, Lottery Simulator, and Reports.
  • Settings, pinned at the bottom.

Four of those — Admissions, the Lottery Simulator, Reports, and the dashboard itself — are views of the same page rather than separate addresses, so the browser URL stays on /app as you move between them. On a phone or tablet the rail becomes a horizontal strip above the page title.

Early education isn’t in the rail — reach it from the Early Education toggle on School Search, from Early Education directly, or from any neighborhood page.

What’s on the dashboard

In order, top to bottom:

  • A greeting, then a context bar showing which family profile and which child you’re looking at, plus your saved address and district.
  • Suggested next step — the one thing most worth doing right now, given how far along you are.
  • Your Research and Admissionscounts — what you’ve saved, and what’s outstanding across the schools you track.
  • Deadline runway — the next six weeks of tracked deadlines on one timeline.
  • Monitoring— your watchlist beside a single “What’s new” reader. See Monitors & saved places.
  • Auto-research places — the toggle and the newest results for your saved places.

Saved

Savedholds everything you’ve kept, split into tabs: Schools, Early Ed, Places, and School Match (where completed Smart Match runs land automatically). Each tab has its own search and sort, and the three location tabs sit beside a map that stays in view as you scroll — click a pin to jump to that card, or click a row to fly the map to it.

The Intelligence panel

The right-hand column is Intelligence. It’s open by default and collapses to a narrow rail with a sparkle icon — collapsing it keeps your conversation, so you can pick the thread back up later. On a phone it opens as a sheet over the page instead. It follows you across every signed-in page, and it opens with a short rundown of what’s new and what’s due. See Motley Intelligence.

Switching child or profile

The pills in the dashboard header switch the active child and the active family profile. Admissions tracking, deadlines, and Smart Match all follow the child you’ve got selected — if a deadline looks like it’s missing, check which child is active first. See Family profiles & children.
